South Korea has produced so many notable boy groups in recent years, that it’s nearly impossible to come up with a list of top boy bands without ruffling some feathers. Others may disagree, but the 22 Colors team has come up with the top 5 fan favorite K-pop boy bands in no particular order.

BIGBANG celebrated their 10th anniversary with a concert tour titled “0.TO.10.” They held a series of concerts in Japan and Korea from July 2016 to January 2017, attracting a total of over 1.1 million fans.
Members G. Dragon, T.O.P., Taeyang, Daesung and Seungri entertained their fans with their hit songs “Last Farewell,” “Big Bang,” “Fantastic Baby,” and many more.
2. SHINeePhoto by soompi.com
SHINee has been around for almost nine years, since the group was formed in 2008. Its members are Onew, Jonghyun, Key, Minho and Taemin, a multi-talented group with backgrounds in singing, acting, dancing, TV presenting, etc. They are known for hits such as Lucifer, Replay, and Ring Ding Dong, to name a few.
3. Highlight (formerly known as Beast)Photo by allkpop.com
After being known as Beast for seven years, Highlight left Cube Entertainment to form their own entertainment agency (Around US Entertainment) with all five original members Yoon Doo-joon, Yong Jun-hyung, Yang Yo-seob, Lee Gi-kwang, and Son Dong-woon as equal partners. Their 6th member Jang Hyun-seung left in April 2016 due to creative differences.
The group released their debut single “It’s Still Beautiful” on March 13, 2017 and their EP Can You Feel it, on March 20.
Despite failing to retain the band’s original name, Highlight is banking on their loyal fans to continue to support them.
4. Super JuniorPhoto by jpopasia.com
Another veteran in the K-pop boy band scene, Super Junior was formed in 2005 by S.M. Entertainment, the same entertainment agency which launched SHINee.
Super Junior or SJ, whose original members are Leeteuk, Heechul, Hangeng, Yesung, Kangin, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kibum, is bigger than most of the boy bands featured on this list. At one point, they had 13 members. Their greatest hits include “Sorry Sorry,” “Mr. Simple,” “Bonamana,” and “Sexy, Free & Single,” to name a few.
5. ExoPhoto by kpopmag.com
Perhaps what sets Exo apart from the other bands on this list is that they have songs both in Korean and Mandarin. The group is composed of Korean and Chinese members. It was formed in 2011 by S.M. Entertainment. The 12-member boy band was divided into two sub-groups, namely: Exo K and Exo M.
The band became so popular that in 2014, Forbes Korea Power Celebrity declared them as 5th most influential Korean celebrity, outranking baseball player Choo Shin-soo (6th), boy band TVXQ (7th), SHINee (8th), figure skater Kim Yu-na (9th), and singer actress IU (10th).
