Repertory Philippines Turns 50

In celebration of Repertory Philippines’ golden anniversary, the country’s most prestigious theater company has lined up exciting activities for 2017 including spectacular new productions, an exciting and intensive Summer Workshop for children and adults, a Children’s Musicale, and the pièce de ré·sis·tance, a Grand Musicale Revival.

The company will also be having a show titled “REP: 50 Years of Telling Stories,” on June 11, 2017, at the Theater at Solaire Resort and Casino.

Repertory Philippines was founded by five actors, namely Zenaida Amador, Carmen Barredo, Leo Martinez, Tony Mercado and his wife Monina in 1967. The theater company has produced over 400 plays and has been home to some of the country’s most notable thespians, namely  Lea Salonga, Monique Wilson, Pinky Amador, Cocoy Laurel, Subas Herrero, and Cris Villonco.
