Just a couple of weeks ago, I saw pictures of feather eyebrows. Yep, you heard it right. Eyebrows that were styled to look like a feather, and I instantly thought of caterpillars. Goosebumps soon came after.
Today, there’s a new eyebrow craze in town – barbed wire-inspired brows, and everyone is talking about them.
The barbed wire look is achieved by parting your eyebrows and manipulating each section so it goes in different directions. So now you have pointed clusters of hair that recreate the barbed wire look.
No one knows who started the trend and how it became so popular. However, a makeup artist, by the name of Athena Paginton, posted a picture on Instagram about six weeks ago, which makes her the number one suspect.
As of writing, Ms. Paginton’s post has almost 8,000 likes and 245 comments.
I must admit I won’t be asking my makeup artist friend to style my eyebrows this way. The look isn’t for everybody. However, people find this style fascinating. The post has received a mix of positive and negative comments, with some even saying they are obsessed with the look.
Some brave souls have tried and documented their effort to recreate the look. Check out the different versions of this latest eyebrow craze by typing the hashtag #barbedwirebrows on Instagram.
I still don’t know how I feel about the barbed wire brows. All I know is, I won’t be trying it anytime soon.
