Filipina golfer Regan De Guzman has accomplished what others only dream of – she has qualified in the 2017 LPGA professional golf tour. It has not always been roses for the tough athlete. Regan has worked extremely hard to get to where she is now. She was one of the top junior golfers in the Philippines. She won the Thailand Ladies Open and the 2008 and 2009 Luzvimin WGAP.
She won the 2009 Faldo Series Philippines Championship by four shots. She represented the Philippines at the 2010 Greg Norman Masters in Australia. She competed at the 2010 Faldo Series Asia Grand Final in China. She also participated in tournaments like 2011 Faldo Series Philippines Championship where she finished second. She reached the semifinals of the 2011 California Women’s Amateur Championship.
Now, aside from being physically and mentally prepared for the tournament, the 25-year-old golfer also has to be prepared financially for the herculean task that lays ahead. A gofundme page has been created by James Pinpin of Carlsbad, California to help raise money to support Regan. On the page, Mr. Pinpin says that Regan depends on her single mother, who lives in Philippines, for financial support.
